good location and good value
- What did you like most?Location: I stayed at Hotel La Croix for attending an event at Hilton Hawaiian Village. The location was good for that, and the shopping area in downtown Waikiki and beaches were also in a very walkable distance. The Ala Moana area was also quite nearby. As the price for this hotel is a cheaper than many other ones in this area, I felt like it was pretty good value. Hotel: Staff was nice. Free coffee and hot/cold water on the first flour were a nice touch. The ABC store was very helpful for a quick bite and some last-minute souvenir shopping. Room (Bronze Queen): decent size. I got a city-view room but somehow was able to see the Friday-night fireworks from a certain angle so that was a nice surprise. Air-conditioning worked super well.
- Was there anything you didn't like?Soundproofing was not great. Faucet in the bath was a bit leaky so there was dripping noise all night (I was able to kind of address this by wrapping a towel around it..). Toilet made horrible noise for about a minute after flushing every time. The safety deposit was upheld on my card for almost a month after my stay, which was a bit annoying.

- What did you like most?It was across from Derussy Park and not too far to walk into Waikiki. There was parking available on site. Wi-Fi was reliable.
- Was there anything you didn't like?AC was ineffective. View from 502 was of part of the parking area and a busy street, which was also pretty noisy. Speaking of noise, 502 is next to the fitness center, and though it was not supposed to be open before 8, people were working out and dropping weights on the floor (how I woke up one day). I reported this, but the door lock was not reprogrammed to block access before 8am by our last day, because people were still in there before 8am. 503 is next door to the fitness center on the other side. The shower needed a door, as the floor gets very wet even with short showers and trying to angle the rain head away from the opening. The rain head is too short. I’m 6’2” and the head was at about my nose or eyes. The glass partition seemed to have a lot of mineral build-up. Would like to have seen clean glass there. The lighting in the room is poor. The lamp between the beds does okay, and is a good temperature. The desk lamp is bright white and not usable, IMO. The sconces are poorly places and there is no overhead lighting.
