My wife & I came to Rome in January 2026 to celebrate my wife's birthday. It was the 2nd time for her to visit Rome and the 1st time for me. We both enjoyed our 8 days there a lot. An important part of this was on the hotel Gambrinus. It is located in a nice, relatively quiet part of Rome, and, at the same time, close to all those ancient sites. So, we always enjoyed our walks from the hotel to the different sites. Furthermore, the hotel is very close to a number of nice/useful places: restaurants, gelateria, shops, shopping Mall, shoemaker a.s.o. A bus stop is situated right opposite the hotel. And the nearest Metro station is just a 10 minute walk away. The people working in the hotel are nice, friendly, organized and supportive - they made our stay there really good, easy and, well, yes: unforgettable. All of them speak good English (which is really different to, for example, Spain). It was them to help me prepare for my wife's birthday, which I'm grateful for (and so is my wife). Our room, actually, consisted of 2 rooms, so that we could separate the "living room" area from our "sleeping room". The colors of our room & its ambience created such a good atmosphere that we were feeling relaxed and comfortable in (just like home!). The size of the bed as well as the quality of the mattress, together with the pillows were perfect for us. Having breakfast was always like a little “celebration“: it started from the friendly "Buongiorno" accompanied by a heart-opening smile! For me as a German, I always found all I needed to be happy during and after breakfast. The same with my wife (she's Muslim). All in all, we spent 8 very nice days in Rome and, particularly, in the hotel "Gambrinus" with its wonderful people. We thank you guys from the bottom of our hearts, leave a big hug, and a “10 out of 10"!!! Olaf & Sevil, January 27th 2026.
