Gigli D’Oro Suite is a boutique guest house set in a 15th-century building, just off the historic Piazza Navona square. Its spacious suites offer luxury bathrooms, an LED TV, and free internet. The décor at the Gigli D’Oro mixes modern and traditional, with wood-beamed ceilings, original paintings and wood floors. All accommodations is air-conditioned. The unique bathrooms feature rain-forest showers with hydromassage or color therapy lighting. Some also have designer baths. A buffet-style continental breakfast, including bacon and eggs, cappuccino, fresh pastries and fruit juice is served daily, in the breakfast room or in the suites. Amazing really good
Frustrating experience
- What did you like most?Unfortunately, I was not able to stay at the property I originally booked. Two days before our arrival, the host contacted me to inform me that we were being moved to a different apartment on Via del Corso, which I did not choose or book. When I asked to cancel so I could book a property of my choice, I was told I was not eligible for a refund. As a result, we were forced to stay in an apartment we had not booked, on a very busy shopping street. The location was loud and not relaxing at all, with no nearby piazzas to sit and enjoy a coffee we had to walk at least 15–20 minutes to find a pleasant area. The original property I booked was advertised as being 2–3 minutes walking distance to everything, which was the main reason I chose it. This last-minute change completely altered our experience and started the stay with disappointment. The apartment itself had very basic facilities. There was no coffee or tea provided, and the bed was extremely thin and uncomfortable we could feel the coils through the mattress. Overall, the stay did not match what was booked or expected, and the luck of flexibility and no refund option made the situation frustrating.
