If you are a spy or a paparazzi you will love this studio room at the Claverley.
- What did you like most?We booked a studio apartment at the Claverley Court Apartments for 5 nights. The studio was clean, almost sterile looking but the interior was fine. The location of the hotel is amazing.
- Was there anything you didn't like?If you are paparazzi, or a spy you will love this apartment. Do not be deceived by the room number, 603. We were not on the 6th floor with a sweeping view of London. We were taken downstairs to the sub basement. We were let into the room that had two false windows (curtains but frosted glass behind them) and one window near to the bed with bars on it that looked right at the Harrods valet! So the room window is literally at the pavement, not below it. The people waiting for their cars with their screaming kids, speaking loudly on their phones with their Harrods bags were standing right outside our ONLY window. You also hear the valets walkie talkies constantly! Like I said, spy…paparazzi would be in heaven as you can watch the wealthy of London come and go. The hotel manager was honestly very lovely. We asked her for another room but there were none available. You could tell she knew we were not the first guests to be very disappointed. Please also note, there are no amenities. No reception room, just one chair in a hallway, no kitchen, drinks etc. I actually worked in a hotel in South Ken in my 20’s, the Pelham. I have also stayed in multiple bed & breakfasts and hotels in London, Paris, Germany, Switzerland etc. throughout my life. I can take a sub par room anywhere as long as you can open a window or curtains to get air or light in. You want to breath in the city, not the exhaust fumes off a Bentley. A part of me feels bad for posting this but the Claverley should have included this in the description and photos online. It feels like deceptive marketing and I get it, really, no one would be ok with this room if they knew what they were getting.
Management has been negligent with this property which needs upgrade to apartments to match the cost of high end units

- Was there anything you didn't like?Apartment had mold in AC/heater unit and bathroom, protruding screws in flooring, food found in top drawer of nightstand with used tissues. Staff is only inside until 10 pm (unless some is checking in after 10 pm). Front door does not lock so anyone can enter building. Other hotel lodgers would wake us up between 11 pm and 3 am talking loudly going up stairs to their apartments. Because there was no staff working you could not have it addressed. Apartment doors do not have extra security lock to prevent entry if someone tries to break in. We were woken up at 4 am with knocking on our apt doors We have photo evidence.
