HIDDEN 'VOLUNTARY' CHARGES
- What did you like most?Perfectly located. That's all.
- Was there anything you didn't like?The rooms are quite dark, as most face an inner courtyard and suffer from constant noise from the parking lot below. While the room was spacious, it was cluttered with unnecessary items—an empty wine cooler, a mannequin, and a chair that didn't even fit under the desk—making it uncomfortable. However, the biggest issue was at check-out. In addition to the tourist tax (that one of EUR 10 per person and night we knew abaout), they added a 2% 'stay charge' to my bill. When I questioned it, the receptionist called it a 'voluntary tip' and actually tried to 'negotiate' the amount when I disagreed. Since my taxi was waiting and I didn't have time to argue, they 'offered' me simply took the amount from my pre-authorization, after deducting the tourist tax. I was never given a detailed receipt for the tax or the tip. The whole experience felt like a scam.
